Os Mutantes eram bem mais do que rock’n’roll. O grupo fundado por Arnaldo Baptista, Rita Lee e Sérgio Dias – que teve Dinho Leme, Liminha e tantos outros grandes músicos em suas diversas formações – era pura contracultura, tanto na forma quanto no conteúdo. Seus álbuns fizeram a diferença e influenciaram gerações mundo afora. A história de cada um deles está aqui nesta “Discobiografia Mutante: Álbuns que Revolucionaram a Música Brasileira”. O livro é um presente da jornalista, biógrafa, cantora e compositora Chris Fuscaldo para a memória da música brasileira, e uma viagem pela espetacular obra dos Mutantes, mesclada com aspectos conjunturais e curiosidades inéditas sobre os protagonistas.

The Mutantes were more than just a rock’n’roll group. Founded by Arnaldo Baptista, Rita Lee and Sérgio Dias – and also Dinho Leme, Liminha and many other great musicians in their various formations – they were pure counterculture, both in content and form. Their albums made a difference and influenced generations all over the world. The story of each one of them is here in this “Discobiografia Mutante: Albums that Revolutionized Brazilian Music”. The book is a gift from the journalist, biographer, singer and songwriter Chris Fuscaldo to the Brazilian music history and a trip through the spectacular work of Mutantes, combined with conjunctural aspects and unprecedented curiosities about the protagonists.

Uma canção, dois nomes

Na página 239, divulgamos entre os álbuns com participação dos Mutantes o “Gilberto Gil”, de 1968. A música “A Luta Contra a Lata ou a Falência do Café” tem esse título no álbum lançado pelo selo azul da Philips. No do selo branco (promocional), o título vem como “A Batalha das Latas ou a Falência do Café”.

* On page 239, we disclose the 1968 “Gilberto Gil” album with the participation of the Mutantes. The song “A Luta Contra a Lata ou a Falência do Café” (“The Fight Against the Tin or Bankruptcy of the Café”) has this title on the album released by Philips’ blue label. On the white label (that was the promotional one of the company), the title comes as “A Batalha das Latas ou a Falência do Café” (“The Battle of Cans or Bankruptcy of Coffee”).

Discos iguais, pero no mucho

Na página 238, na seção “Os Mutantes no Exterior”, existem aparentemente três discos iguais: “2007 (LP) – Os Mutantes (1968) – (Lilith Records) – European Union and Russia”. O que ocorreu foi o lançamento em três formatos: Digipack; com CD bônus pelo selo vermelho; com CD bônus pelo selo estampado com a foto da capa.
